Other Notes on Pressurized Transfers

When doing pressurized transfers with any type of fermenter (stainless steel conical, glass carboy or otherwise) it is important to not exceed 3-4psi. Pressurizing a fermenter beyond 5psi could result in a dangerous situation, so having an accurate reading of your CO2 pushing pressure is critical to performing safe transfers.

Using the 0-60psi gauge that come standard on most regulators is not recommended. It is difficult to accurately gauge the pushing pressure on a 0-60 gauge as low pressures (5psi and below) may not accurately register.
